Why would Obama want to close Gitmo? A guy who spent 6 years there is now a terror leader in Yemen?

The guy spent 6 years in Guantanimo Bay. He was given 3 meals a day, allowed to perform all his daily prayers and was NEVER tortured.

We have tortured 3 people since 9/11. And all resulted in capturing key terror leaders who would have killed people.

Why on God’s green earth does Obama want to close Gitmo when here is the proof of what these guys will do if they ever get out?

    now we understand his motivation!!!

  2. Red State Televangelist says:

Perhaps because some people in other countries that they don’t terrorize have an oppinion that we are naughty, and Obama cares more about that then our safety

  3. Chubewanagrakferssw says:

the Yemen story its probably bullshit. innocents have been tortured for good thats why.

  4. S P says:

This is going to be awkward when the next major terrorist attack is perpetrated by a guy he released.

  5. Jack Bauer my Hero says:

Look at the Gitmo pictures. America has torture way more than 3 people.

Probably because many of our military leaders, including Sec Gates, have been calling for the closure for some time. Also, the Bush administration had more than 5 years to convict these people and failed. If they are dangerous criminals – why is not try them?

The heinous reputation of Gitmo has been a wonderful recruiting tool for terrorist organizations abroad. Bush should be proud.

It’s the right thing to do and, you can’t blame Obama for that one. He was released during the Bush administration.

  8. TJTB says:

He was released by bush because he was a SAUDI national who went to Yemen! Read the article again. Saudi’s were immuned from Bush’s wrath… that’s why Iraq was attacked when Saudi terrorits ran into our buildings!

Whenever a story like this comes out, it inevitably ends up being BS. And I like that you pretend to know how many people America has tortured since 9.11. THEN you pretend you know what that torture produced. Of course, you know nothing.

  10. DeLite aka xXxCHExXx says:

Many guys who spent many years there being tortured came out as they were innocent.

  11. Lawyer X says:

We have what’s known as the Constitution. If the government charges someone with a crime and can prove it, then they can deny the person his/her liberty. Otherwise, there’s no basis to hold them indefinitely. Gitmo is a national disgrace.

  12. misetalcetera says:

This is why all these people will be given fair trials, because not all of them belong there.

Do you really want to waste more tax dollars funding a prison camp that’s detaining people that may not even be guilty? Personally I’m happy to see that these people will be given trials, it’ll give us the ability to throw the actual bad guys in jail and prevent our military from abusing powers.

Glad to see that your mind is free of reality, aswell as the ability to reason.

Your head is a scary place.

  14. Army11X says:

Any non-US citizen (and terrorist) are not covered under out Constitution! I don’t get why we didn’t just kill this guy.

Capture him, get as much info as he will give and then kill him.

  15. Rupert G says:

Now, now. The Great O has to undo all the Evil Bush has done. He will give those poor boys in Gitmo their rights and freedoms. I’m sure they have learned their lesson and will promise never to be mean to us again.

  16. Chupate esa! says:

Because the people who open it kept this prisoners in violation of the law. Why do people want Obama to continue breaking the laws?

  17. Exile says:

Politics and Ideology over practicallity and wisdom.

  18. Thomas SR says:

Pandering to the far-left loons who supported him is more important than our national security.

  19. Croaker says:

because the prisoners in gitmo deserve to have their day in court.

  20. Gottbaum says:

USA is a gulag, a mob without principles or guts. Whining biatches…
