Freed Guantánamo inmates are heading for Yemen to join al-Qaeda fight
At least a dozen former Guantánamo Bay inmates have rejoined al-Qaeda to fight in Yemen, The Times has learnt, amid growing concern over the ability of the country’s Government to accept almost 100 more former inmates from the detention centre.
The Obama Administration promised to close the Guantánamo facility by January 22, a deadline that it will be unable to meet. The 91 Yemeni prisoners in Guantánamo make up the largest national contingent among the 198 being held. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article6975971.ece
To test Hillary’s security measures.
Notice that he got her to make a public statement last week first, then he had them released.
It’s his evil plan to get back at her for calling him inexperienced.
Don’t they live there?
Please provide proof and evidence of any given person labeled “terrorist.”
I believe this happened under Bush as well. Some were returned to Yemen as that is where they were from. However, the number of releases since Obama took office is much more significant.
Under Bush, there was a war on Terror. Now, we just apologize for existing. A true shift. Gitmo will not be shut down quickly, if at all as the reality is there is almost no support to bring terrorists to America for trial.
Because hes in a no win situation and was stupid enough to make a promise he cant keep. If he closes it, They have nowhere to go because he doesnt even know. If he keeps it open he looks more favorable politically. He basically doesnt know what to do so its status quo
Obama released 6 so far back to Yemen. 11 of the inmates are known to have rejoined Al-Quaeda but there is no mention if some of these are Bush’s together with Obama’s.
The Saudis seem to be doing a good job at trying to coerce former terrorists into reforming. They give them women and cars, who wouldn’t want that!
I guess you could say that Obama is just following the example given by the Bush Administration. That article reported on the Yemen prisoners, who did rejoin al-Qaeda, that were released by the Bush Administration. Only time will tell whether the six recently released prisoners will do the same thing. But, most of the Guantanamo prisoners are being transferred to stateside prisons.
His bros have been locked up to long. He’s got to set them free.
He is simply in to recycling them you know he lets them go to Yemen , they attack us again, and if we are lucky we recapture them, he let the going green go to his inflated head! In otherwords the guy has lost it,
