Sounds to me like they are arming them to combat a possible attack from Iran maybe?? what do you think, here read this…
The Bush administration has decided to supply billions of dollars in advanced new weapons to Saudi Arabia , other Arab allies of the United States and to Israel , senior State Department officials and congressional aides said Friday.
The arms and aid package, which the officials said is to be announced on Monday, is part of a U.S. initiative to reassure worried allies in the Middle East that despite its troubles in Iraq , the United States remains committed to the region. It also is meant to send a signal of resolve to Iran’s increasingly confident leaders.

It is no surprise and would seem to be the rational thing to do. Iran sent a million men with the intent to conquer the whole region during the Iraq war. US military aid to Iraq stopped them. That is why you hear we put Saddam in power from some of the simplistic types.
sounds to me that they are appeasing them by supplying them with a couple of the new nukes, so they’ll continue to look the other way.
i think bush is not yet sure hillary has been greased well enough to be trusted with keeping the usa in iraq until the sunni coup that brings to power the new and improved now opec and exxon friendly saddam to power. if she backs out and shiites reign and iran controls the bush pals in the royal palace in riyadh might need those weapons. disaster could ensue. saudis could lose the ability to control oil prices, exxon profits could plummet, haliburton could be out of work
Sounds like Bush Jr is going to be on Saudi Payroll soon, if not already on it.
just putting equipment where it is most likely to be needed to stabilize the region. Also by giving it to the saudi’s we place the responsibility in their lap of reigning in their neighbors so we dont have to. Keeps the region stable without involving more US troops. Pretty good idea.
There could be several reasons bush wants to sell arms to arabs. My first thought was to get lower oil prices. My second thought is, Ever sence the US gave the jews weapons to fight palistine back in the 1940′s. No arab nation wanted to be our allies, unless we paid for it. they hate the US and they have no problem telling us that every day. Did you know that George’s father Bush Sr. gave sodam all the money and weapons he wanted, just to be our friend, all those bunkers our boys are blowing up in iraq we built. id say that was money well spent.
