So, why the immense coverage to the Egyptian revolution and just minimal coverage to the other ones?? Why did USA put so much pressure on Mubarak but we are not saying much or covering much or putting much pressure on the other countries experiencing unrest? I don’t get it.

For the past few years, Glenn Beck has been called just about every defamatory name in the dictionary by those in the Left-Wing media and blogosphere. However, a few weeks ago, he made a few predictions, right when the Egyptian protests began, which brought much criticism from the Left-Wing media. He said:

Radicalists/ Islamists / Communists/Socialists will work together against Israel
Radicalists/ Islamists / Communists/Socialists will work together against Capitalism
Radicalists/ Islamists / Communists/Socialists will work together to overthrow stability

And that protests will become contagious, sweeping the Middle East then onward to the rest of the world.

Since he predicted that a few weeks ago, we have heard that countries all throughout North Africa and the Middle East, (Algeria, Bahrain, Iran, Yemen to just name a few) are starting to violently lash out in protest. And all of those protests contain heavy anti-Israel, anti-Capitalism sentiments, calling for massive revolution, with many of them calling for an Islamist state, and even a Caliphate (global Islamist state).

Also, riots in Mexico have begun, and civil unrest is going on three days in a row now in Wisconsin, and is starting to spread in other places in the U.S.

Regardless of whether or not you agree or disagree with Beck’s views or ideology in general, should we start paying more attention to what he is saying, since he has been right so far about this?
Ambush Predator – He hasn’t been correct on anything? That is rather ignorant of you. Even Anderson Cooper and the Left-Wing staff of MSNBC have reported other countries in the Middle East revolting against their governments, and the heavy anti-Israel and anti-Capitalist mantras they’re touting.

http://ac360.blogs.cnn.com/2011/02/14/unrest-in-middle-east-and-north-africa/

Tyler – Well if it was so easy to predict, why were so many in the Left-Wing media calling him a kook for making such crazy predictions?

http://www.examiner.com/political-buzz-in-national/did-glenn-beck-jump-the-shark-with-caliphate-conspiracy-theory-video

(By the way, they also call him crazy for his predictions on inflation…have you seen the price of cotton lately, it’s up 125%)

And are you sure left wing groups aren’t looking to capitalize on the growing unrest in the Middle East?

http://dailycaller.com/2011/02/11/true-dissent-labor-and-left-wing-groups-meet-in-washington-to-capitalize-on-egyptian-uprising/

Bill – I’m sure the protests in Wisconsin have nothing to do with any of the civil unrest throughout the world, especially when you see signs that say “Egypt = 18 days; Wisconsin = ???”, and “Mubarak for Governor”. I’d also like to point out the visciousness of these signs…you libs thought those TEA party signs were bad?

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-best-protest-signs-at-the-wisconsin-capitol

And, anti-capitalism has been a common thread in the Middle East forever, along with anti-Western sentiments. Islamists like those in the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist factions have been touting their anti-capitalistic views for years and who do you think was the main organizer for the Egyptian riots? I know that Ed Schultz and Rachel MANdow haven’t said that yet, so you’re not supposed to believe it, but seriously, perhaps you should start thinking for yourself. And maybe take a little advice from your nemesis Glenn Beck, and not take his word for it, and do your own research.
Lenny – I think you misinterpreted what Beck said, probably because you don’t watch his program and just take the word of others in the Liberal media who take a two second sound bite and cut it up to make it sound like he said something he didn’t say. Glenn Beck has not chosen sides on any of the Middle East protests, he has only been reporting on the things going on in the protests. As a matter of fact, he was on record saying:

“I am not a fan of Mubarak. I am not a fan of supporting him. I am not a fan of how we’ve supported, I’m not a fan of how does a guy make $70 billion for his family, $70 billion in a country where the average person makes $2 a day. This guy’s a dirtbag. And I hope to God we have not welcomed him into our country.”

http://www.glennbeck.com/2011/02/10/mubarak-to-step-down/

In regards to Bahrain, I have not read a single credible thing that Glenn Beck has said (actually said, not inferred) that would indicate that he supports the government of Bahrain over
the protestors.

(relating to uk news, but i know its the same elsewhere).

***the king of jordan dissolved his government, and has brought in a ‘reformist’ one- this gets barely a mention. demonstrations in yemen- barely a mention.***

i know what’s happening in egypt is emotive, innovative, interesting etc- but so are the similar stories in other countries- which are not covered with such obessive interest.
the reports from egypt have become increasnigly repetative- loooonnnggg reports from the square, demonstrators yelling at the camera, reporters over crackly satelite links ad nauseum. this is not only the top story on every news programme, every day, but its given longer than usual segments. there is almost NO context provided- any previous attempts at democracy? no idea. what was life, free speech, education etc like? no idea. no mention either of the fact that most muslim countries- some now agitating for reform- all have pretty repressive regimes by westen standards.

im not isolationist, but i am bored ridged by this now. id understand if this was on our doorstep- but its not. there arnt even masses of ex pat brits living there- eg spain- so it cant be justified from that angle. we are culturally, economically and ethnically dissimilar to them.

***there continue to be terrible wars- with rape as a weapon- fought in africa- this is NEVER mentioned on the tv news.***

meanwhile our own very serious domestic affairs are given almost no discussion- reform of the nhs, increasing unemplyment, domestic terrorists- nothing- instead everyhing devolves to a very narrow and repetative report on egypt.
WHTY????

yes, but i still dont understand why it remains the top story!!
its miles from the uk, both geographically and culturally. there are similar, but smaller, demos occuring elsewhere, which are unmentioned. there is no context for the egyptian events.

recent similar uprisings elsewhere have NOT recieved similar blanket cover- eg thailand.

warfare and strife are the daily currency of loads of countries. i see no reason why this should by top story every day, and take up a 3rd of ever news programme.

james p- im in the uk. we have domestic muslim terrorist stories almost every week, which recieve litlte – no coverage.
