If the word Arab had to equal something, what would that be ?

Certain news networks such as CNN have overwhelmingly associated the word “arabs” with terrorists. The purpose of my question is to get an idea if these news networks have succeeded in instilling these beliefs to the general public. Please feel free in sharing your honest opinions.
