I don’t want to cancel my tickets, and would love to visit, but too many people are telling me not to go… so here i rest my decision in Yahoo Answers. :)

Also, recommendation for an insurance provider would be helpful.

Yemen is not a safe place period. Plus I don’t know what’s there thats worth seeing in Yeman anyways.

Go to Sanaa. So many Europeans around old Sanna market, and its cold now so bring a light jacket. People are friendly and food is cheap and great. You will find many Germans and British students walking around and some Americans.

People of Sanaa will advice you and protect you , listen to them if they told you not to somewhere , if they feel ok with it they will ask you to get a Permit which you must.

Get a trip to Shibam and Hodeida its nice, but remember Sanaa is high altitude so its very cold mate!

You will see alot of kids who look like my Avatar and thats me when I was 7 lol.

Cigarrets are cheap for USD9 dollars you get a Carton!!

Travel Safe and do not go to Marib ! no matter what!

Houthy is fighting far north, Sanaa is awesome, there are still many Europeans and Students at this time, the police will advice you more on where not to go, There is always Aden my friends

Although I would love for you to visit my lovely Yemen, I still don’t think it’s a good idea to come at this time. Yemen is very beautiful and usually tourists are amazed by the places they visit in here, however, right now is a kind of a critical time because of the Hothy and the war (read about it if you don’t already know).

I hope you do visit yemen sometime, it has so many beautiful places ^_^

It’s not advisable strictly because of a war going on (or shortly finished anyway) in the North and some political unrest in the cities BUT! there are still many travelers in the country and being a visitor if you stick to the cities and hotels in the cities you will probably be just fine. Don’t go away from the cities though.

There’s a bit of Yemen on the website below but not much about the current situation.
