Shouldn’t Obama be sending troops to Yemen to fight where Al Queda is most active?

Simply using drone bombers is not cutting shouldn’t he redeploy the troops that he is withdrawing from Iraq to Yemen or be sendin troops to Yemen instead of Afghanistan?
The drone plane bombers are not doing the job there

Hundreds of other fighters from Yemen, where Abdulmutallab may have received his instructions to bomb a US-bound flight on Christmas Day, are planning attacks, according to a new report.

Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, Yemen’s foreign minister, made the claim as he asked for help from the international community to train and equip counter-terrorist forces, the Times of London reported today.

“They may actually plan attacks like the one we have just had in Detroit. There are maybe hundreds of them — 200, 300.”

Really? Is Saudi Arabia next? That is the number one sponsor of terrorism

Probably not, we already have two wars we’ve been fighting for at least 5 years… That tends to put a strain on the military

How do you propopse we fund and man a ground operation on yet another war front?

  8. sisterpict says:

If he delpoys them to Yemen, then Al Qaeda will just move again and again. There’ll be no end to it.

Ya, let’s chase the bogeymen around the world and breed more hate for America while we’re at it…..

How about getting our national guard OUT of Kosovo and all the other foreign nations and begin protecting from within? You know, be PROACTIVE, rather than REACTIVE.

And we need to eliminate the TSA and allow the airlines to provide their own security measures.

Maybe you missed the news, we have been bombing them since early December. where ya been buddy?

  11. gws35 says:

Once again – Obama ALREADY DID attack Yemen.

    It happened on 12/18/2009.

    Doesn’t anybody read the news?

Yemen does not have a government controlled by the Taliban.
Yemen does not have an uncooperative dictator who is murdering his own people like Iraq had.
Yemen does not have a government that beheads and burns women alive like Afghanistan had.
Yemen does not have rape rooms.
Each country is different and the government and their cooperation in confronting terrorism is what should drive the decision whether to bomb them.
The terrorists said that Iraq was the central war on terror until the surge and they knew they were losing. The terrorists now claim that Afghanistan and Pakistan are the central war. No one is claiming Yemen is.

It would be wrong to abandon Afghanistan before they’re able to secure their country.

You can’t just keep sening the same people into battle over and over, without rest or breaks.

Since this request has just been made, it’s impossible to know whether Obama will help. (It doesn’t ALWAYS have to be us, BTW; he asked for help from the international community — which consist of a lot more countries than the US — just as terrorists have attacked in a lot more countries in the US.)

I don’t yet know what to think about this. We DO currently have our hands full, after all.
