Making a difference 8:13 Inside the Middle East talks to Arab News , Ebtihal Mubarak the fearless female Saudi journalist who is tackling issues at odds with the Kingdom’s conservatives.
Very interesting video, although I knew much of this already. For the reasons mentioned in this video, lots of Saudi (able) women like to vacation in the other Gulf countries in the weekend to let their hair down and dress in more comfortable clothes. And she’s right, women have virtually no political rights in Saudi but also in some other parts of the Middle East–In Lebanon women needed the permission of their fathers to leave the country back in the 90s…I don’t know if it’s still like that.
@CayenneJasmine i think you were a muslim then converted to another religion , you know so much about islam lol
stupid video
fuck
She was able to leave through the men’s side because she was misunderstood to be accompanied by a male member of her family. In other words, they assumed that the other male was her husband.
@platinumbeatZ4U
Yes Che Guevera…what’s the problem with that? Che is a symbol of revolution …just like the palestinian keffiyeh . Many people don’t know its meaning and dont deserve to wear it.
doctorshabs
watch your words before forcing me to reply to you
i’ll be more respectful and better than you, just keep in your mind we never pay attention to people like you
i think and this is personal growth ok corruption has spread because women wanted to have their own freedom
i just wonder when will we be having a good thinking about things around us
would you mind caring about your business please just leaving Saudi Arabia alone it knows how to take care about these affairs itself
More and more Saudi women MUST speak out. It’s a shame how they have to fear men in their society for simply speaking out.
i dont talk about driving ,i talk about these noisy streets ,its crazy
2:21 che guevarra LOL u muslims are funny…..che whould hate u people…u dont deserve his picture
Most do?…..most women have not choice….that doesn’t make it best for their side…..you are selfish and ignorant

What’s about it?
You said “in Islam”, so the distribution of roles is rooted in Islam? I frankly doubt so.
Well, but theoretically they could switch? Not that it would be very common in the current western society, but still, the times when men had to do hard labour to nourish the family are over (at least in many places).
the fucking american media never cover the two sides. they wanna go with ones who have the same thoughts. you amercan have your own fucking serious problems that have not cover yet.
people please don’t mix sexisem with heritage for the love of god you people are so stubborn.
apartheid? I think she is misusing the word, or belittling what happened in the real apartheid where they put black ppl in ghettos and politically and economically oppressed them.
And if she decides to work just because she wants to, she still has to do her duty at home, preparing her husbands food and such. Her doing what she desires, which is not obligated upon her, does not give her the right to neglect her duty. If the husband is working hard to fufill his duty and her right upon him, then she should also being fulfiling her duty towards him, that is only fair… like I said, to you this is strange, because in ur society men are not obligated to provide for women.
In Islam, women do not have to work, it is choice, while the Muslim man has to provide for all the women in his household, he can’t tell his wife or sister or mother that they have to use their own money to provide for themselves, this is an obligation upon the man in Islam. So then the husband gets back home tired from working to provide for her needs, she should be at home to prepare what he needs which he can’t do himself becuase of being busy working. .. continued
Saudi Arabia needs to change its laws because their laws are ancient. It’s not working. Many people are miserable and unhappy I can tell. I’m glad I’m not a Saudi.
“Who is then to take care of the husband’s needs when he comes home tired from working to provide for her needs. ”
Women work too!
