Islamists fight Yemen law banning child marriage

SAN’A, Yemen – She was 2 years old when her father promised her in marriage to a man in his 30s. It was a swap, so the father could marry the man’s sister without paying the obligatory bride-price.

They fight it because the Abrahamic religions do not condemn child marriages in any way. This aversion against kid diddling is a modern western invention.
To them, this law is a violation of their religion
I am a Muslim, and I do think this is sick. Nowhere in Islam dictates that you must have child marriages. It is simply allowable. But this story is just…….creepy.
