I’m Watching the News, I See al-Qaeda Making Terrorist Projects In the Name of My Identity. What’s Wrong?

I know it sounds stupid. But I’m 17 years old Saudi guy, I may not be the typical Saudi because I’m living a way-too-westernized life. I was watching the news bulletin and I see stuff about al-Qaeda and Bin Laden. I started asking myself certain questions like: What were al-Qaeda people thinking when they started acting like the Muslim army and call themselves weird names? What makes them think that what they are doing is going to get them to heaven because according to my Qu’ran it’s Haram to kill innocent people? They have some generalized themes that would claim that they represent Islam and Arabs, I’m a Muslim and an Arab and I believe that their beliefs are the exact opposite of my beliefs. If there’s something al-Qaeda taught me, it’s that an idiot has only one way to express his opinion, which is violence. They failed to argue with anybody using the humanly ways so they decided to use violence. Just like idiots.
At last, I’d like to apologize to anybody who was harmed by ‘em.

You don’t need to apologise to anyone – you obviously haven’t hurt anyone.
People of all religions have used their beliefs to cause harm and try and inflict their views on others who don’t share them, its not just the Muslims.
There are many more good Muslims out there my friend, we know your not all like the fanatics.
Yeah I’m muslim too, but it is also annoying how thanks to al-Qaeda everyone assumes all muslims are extremists. But within every religon there are people like that, I guess its just a matter of how you interpret the religion.
Actually the pre 1900′s Quran speaks of death to all who are not Muslim especially Jews. Saudi Arabia is not even hiding this fact now. I believe you are genuine but you will also be a target for those that follow the Quran literally.
This is what Americans have been saying for years. Killing in the name of God. Why can’t these muslims get a grip on reality? Why must they lie and distort everything in the name of violence? If you live a western life and are enjoying your life more than recruiting into a muslim army what does this same about our culture? Thank you! Shukran!

P.S. I don’t expect apologies from the Innocent. I am sorry that you are made to feel the need to apologize. I would rather just a voice of reason.
what’s wrong is they are radicals…we do not blame the average Muslim for what radicals do…Thank you for denouncing them…I appreciate it.
You are just 17, yet seem so much more wise then they do. I am glad that you interpret you beliefs that way…it makes for a better world all around.
Just a side note.Over in the US, we have groups who interpret the Bible their own way too. They break away from the main church and form their own group. Most are harmless, but many try to spread hate. We call them fundamentalists over here….or cults. They don’t understand those same Christian teachings…killing is wrong…violence is wrong.

I recommend that you bring up this issue with people that you know in the community. Form a study group of people who are interested in the same issues that you are.
Encourage members of your group to expand their influence by recruiting people that they know who are interested.
Once you have built up some numbers in your group you will start to have power and influence in the community.

It’s very kind of you to apolgise. Most intelligent people not just in the US but around the world, are aware that the Muslim faith is one of peace and harmony and in no way do they judge Muslims for the actions of some fanatics. Violence never achieves anything, it just exaserbates a situation. Violence breeds violence.
We do not judge Muslims for the actions of a few, no more than people should judge American people for the warmongering and clusterbombing of hundreds of thousands of innocents and destruction of Iraq, by our current administration.
It is nice of you to apologise but we Americans also feel sorry and apolgise for the actions of the money hungry power crazed actions of our President and his henchmen.
As you are no doubt aware the stood to gain financially from the war in Iraq.
Our former vice president Dick Cheney pocketed $1Billion from the sale of his Haliburton shares, all gained from lucrative Iraqi contracts. War means money to greedy politicians.
As in most wars it is always the innocent civilians women children ordinary folk going about their day who suffer and who are killed needlessly, made homeless, as a result live in poverty misery without electricity, food, runnig water, reduced to living in squalor, while the fat cat politicans can laugh all the way to their offshore bank accounts.
Friends of mine who have served there have told me how sad it makes them to see the children hungry and begging for food, and how emaciated the animals are. Our president is responsible for that and they know it. It is pitiful the state they have reduced Iraq to.
War achieves nothing,other than chaos death and destruction. It does however make our very greedy politicians and their arms dealer friends very very wealthy indeed. they spend $3Trillion of our taxes on arms and the war annualy.
That is a lot of money that could be so much better spent on building our economy, creating jobs, on healthcare and education, but no those Trillions are spent on the destruction of a country and killing massacre of innocents.
As an American I would like to apologise to the iraqi peope for the destructive actions of my government. I would like you to know that they invaded Iraq against the wishes of the majority of the American people. there never were any wmd’s found.
They invented a lie to base the reason for the invasion. As a result millions of Iraqis have been made homeless. A million of innocent civilans have been killed. Over 1,800 of our brave troops, and many hundreds of thouands injured or maimed for life, physically and emotionally, and for what? so that the arms companies can make more millions, blood money all of it.
You are so right it is Haram to kill innocent people. Someone should tell that to Bush and his buddies.
PS. If you really want to help why not organise a food run to Iraq. Call on your wealthy Saudi friends and neighbours to organise shipments of much needed food and medical supplies to Iraqi hospitals. There is a desperate need for medical supplies, bandanges, painkillers, basic medical equipment.
Call on your government or elders to send some engineers to get the water supplies and electiricty running again. Iraq is in a mess right now, as anyone who has served there knows. We have destroyed that country, sure a dictator was removed but at what a price in human life and destruction of a country.
