I ask again, are we going to end up in a war in Yemen?

Al-Shabab fighters training in Mogadishu, Somalia, on Friday, vowed to cross the Gulf of Aden to back al-Qaida in Yemen should the U.S. step up its attacks there.

    Not if you do the smart thing and just support the Yemeni government via training and outfitting.

    Yemen doesn’t want them there, they are just in no shape to be dealing with them at the moment. Give the Yemeni soldiers guns and the know how to use them, and they will turn on the same target as the US.

    Yemen has been very close to a failed state for at least five decades now.

    If we get involved there at all, it would be a HUGE error. But someone will. There’s a power vacuum, and someone will try to exploit it. Thing is, there also isn’t much wealth lying around, so it won’t be a prety thing. But it CANNOT be the United States.
