    I would feel worried

I would pray, and hope anything bad would occur.

    I would make a wish ( http://www.themostexpensivewish.com )

I would not like it, worry and wonder why. I feel there are a lot more safer places to visit/adventure to. But it is his decision.

i live in kuwait and im a girl! i dont think an 18 yr old would not be safe here at all! kuwait is safe and there are no dangers + there are no drinks and all those things.. so let him come and ill take him out :P im not sure about yemen, never been there.
most people in kuwait speak english

Kuwait and Yemen are TOTALLY different. If he doesnt speak Arabic I wouldnt recommend Yemen alone, although its a far more fascinating country than Kuwait….if he does decide on Yemen i know a couple Honest guides. It is a Wonderful country, although in the North its bordering on a civil war in areas. You dont hear about this too much in the western media though. Kuwait, shopping, etc….ok if thats your thing. I would recommend in the area, either Egypt, Jordan, or over to Oman, which is much like Yemen, but a bit more modern. Hope this helps.

I really wouldn’t worry. Just give him advice on travelling safely – always wear a money belt under you clothes, never take out lots of money in front of anyone, don’t accept open drinks from strangers, don’t get drunk by yourself. the most important thing is common sense. If he is sensible there is absolutley no reason for anything bad to happen.
there are many more dangerous places than kuwait and yemen, trust me!

    He would be fine.

Kuwait and Yemen are ones of the safest Arabic nations there are out there. I know a countless Friends of the family who lived there for years and even leave their children at home when they go to work and are always fine. As long as you don’t cause any trouble there’s nothing to worry about. Your son being eighteen and going there for a short time should be fine. There aren’t youth socials or similar places where disruption may occur or things like of sort like we have here in western world.
P.S. my aunt still leaves there (Kuwait and travels to Yemen once in a while (25 years now).

I live in Kuwait for more than 3 years now and I can tell you that the only risk your son will be taking while coming over here is to die from boredom:).

Kuwaiti friends, please don’t get me wrong, Kuwait is a beautiful country , very modern and elegant, developing with rocket speed and the people are amongst the most gentle I have known of. I am having a good life here but if I were 18, this place would be one of the last places to go as a tourist :) )

You can send him over, don’t worry.

i’d think he is one adventurer who wants to explore interesting countries. I would not be too worried about safety, cause both countries are relatively safe.

I would however question the choice, cause they are not popular destinations for tourists nor well known for amazing cultural or historical landmarks.
