Former Gitmo detainees help al-Qaida grow in Yemen What do you think of this?

Does this make you wish that we would let them all go free?
Do you still want to close down Gitmo?

It tells you that they should not let any of them go, but of course, the facts never get in the way of a Liberal decision.

I’m not surprised. Torture does not make for friends, that’s why no one ever escaped a KGB interrogation.

  3. simm101 says:

That Obama guy is one smart fcuker to let them go, but that’s socialism at its best. Want to see it at it’s peak, then take a look at the UK.

  4. rejectedzipper says:

You think maybe that being held without trial, without legal representation, being tortured and then let go is gonna make somebody America’s friend?

If the gangster Cheney and his puppet Bush had treated them as criminals and put them through the courts they would all be either set free, sentenced or executed and Gitmo would be empty. Instead they created “enemy combatants” to avoid the Genenva Convention.

I am with “Rejected” on this.
Gitmo was a travesty for a country with such high ideals as the US pretends to have.

May not like my answer here, but if I was taken to a foreign country tortured and had done nothing my attitude when I got home would be “I am going to get them ****** back”. Not a popular thing to think but hey that would be my attitude and sure it be a lot of peoples. Don’t be surprised this is the overwhelminghuman reaction most people feel who feel they were done wrong. I guess the former detainees returned to Yemen or getting NO support what so ever they are going to be thinking of revenge more than getting on with life. Why it is not only important to make sure when you realize the detainees that they are watched but they have some support that is very important.

  7. chloe says:

Closing Gitmo and freeing the detainees are two different things. You can thank the previous administration for freeing the detainees that were sent to Saudi Arabia for ‘therapy’, and then on to Yemen to plot against the US.

  8. michele says:

    surprise surprise

it is just bleeding hearts and fools and terrorist sympathisers who believed the scumbags in gitmo were innocents just happening to be found in warzones

there have been reports of detainees returning to their terrorist ways as soon as freed

i hope the british government keeps an eye on the so called new british who were there

i would not have freed any of them….while islamic terrorists still target the west they should be held
