Do you really think our President was apologizing to terrorists in his interview with an Arab news station?i?

Obama’s interview with the Arab news station was brilliant. He was NOT apologizing to Muslim terrorists. He was saying that Americans now know that Muslim terrorists are their own radical group and don’t represent the majority of the Muslim world. That we need to respect, not only Muslims, but all people of the world. That America is not an enemy of Muslims, but we won’t tolerate acts of Muslim terror, or any other kind of acts of terror. The Muslim people of the world and this country needed to hear that from our new President to hopefully let go of the idea that we hate them. He also talked about the need for Israel and Arabs to make peace and each have their own autonomous regions that are self governed (not by terrorist groups such as Hamas). He was attempting to start the peace process in the middle east, something Bush never had the intelligence to do. Obama is a smart, intelligent man and knows the right and diplomatic way to do things. Something we haven’t seen from a President in awhile. I have the feeling the survivors of those who perished on 9/11, were proud and grateful we now have a President who can do that. The bottom line is, those of you who think he was apologizing to the terrorists only heard and distorted what you wanted to. Listen to the interview again, with an open mind, if you have one.

To Liberal loons: Carter was the only successful President who brought Egypt and Israel together in peace and friendship. Israel and Egypt are no longer enemies, just in case you weren’t around then. It angered some Arabs so badly that the President of Egypt at the time was assasinated during a parade in his honor. So yes, alot of good it did for Carter. Unfortunately, you even had the Arab terrorists back in the 70′s.
Mayberry: I NEVER heard Bush say anything of the sort and if he did, he sure proved it by murdering tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi’s. So much for your Bush.
To WWW 25: The majority of the Muslim world, unlike you have rational, logical minds and heard what they needed to hear. That America is NOT their enemy and we don’t hate them all for what a radical group did on 9/11 and how that same radical group and others continues to try and cause chaos around the world.

the same thing worked wonders for Carter didn’t it?

It will be perceived in the Middle East as a sign of weakness

No, any rational person knows exactly what he was saying and why he interviewed with them to say it. Unfortunately, SOME people only want to find reasons to criticize him, regardless of what he does.

  4. American Spirit says:

He was apologizing to the innocents.

    Of course he was.

May be distorted to you, but what do you think the Muslims heard–an apology.

Obama follows the Muslim belief so why would he not apologize–he is one of them.

sunshine, and butterflies and rainbows and lollipops! We’ll just pour syrup on all those big bad Muslim terrorists and then they’ll be happy too!

Funny, Bush said this exact same thing after 9/11. He stated it many times. He met with muslim leaders in America. Encouraged the American people to distinguish between radical muslims and those who were not.

Liberals didn’t listen to him…….why is it so great now that obama says the exact same thing? You need to watch your double standards.

    EDITED TO ADD:
Here’s an American muslim speaking to a muslim group about how Bush reached out to them. go to the site and read the whole thing yourself. Or is hating Bush more important than the truth?
“”However, American Muslims quickly learned that our fear and apprehension were exaggerated. Immediately after 9-11, President George Bush took time from managing the worst crisis that any president can experience and visited a mosque to remind American Muslims and non-Muslims alike that we are all Americans. This demonstrated that even a tragedy like 9-11 will not shake the foundation on which America was founded. That foundation was built on religious freedom, tolerance, justice and a sense of fairness that is found in far too few places of the world. For those American Muslims who still felt fear and anxiety, our government reached out to them again by inviting an Imam to speak at a memorial for the victims of 9-11. Since then, President Bush has not passed up an opportunity to remind all Americans that Islam is both a great religion and a religion of peace.”"

He very clearly defined terrorists as separate from Muslims. He apologized to the Arab world, and said specifically we would still route out the terrorists.
