US, UK close Yemen embassies over al-Qaida threats
“Western embassies in Yemen locked up Sunday after fresh threats from al-Qaida, and the White House expressed alarm at the terror group’s expanded reach in the poor Arab nation where an offshoot apparently ordered the Christmas Day plot against a U.S. airliner.”

Gosh, it’s a good thing he didn’t do exactly what the terrorists wanted – express terror.
Looks like some are not sure, so I’ll explain it:

Running away from the enemy IS surrender.

Terrorists threaten us. Get used to it. Big daddy, Republican or Democrat, can’t protect us from all terrorist attacks, even if we all get orifice-probed at the airport.

I would say it is more of a wake up call for Yemen with the US and British embassies closed they are disconnected from a major communication line,Im not an Obama fan and doubt that he had the intuition to come up with this idea but I think it is an effective first step to telling their government to wake up cooperate and do your job.

  8. Ned says:

Are you not seeing the increase in drone air strikes, the first increase in troops in Afghanistan, the scheduled second increase in troops to Afghanistan, drone strikes against al-Qaida in Somalia, drone strikes in Yemen and co-ordinated attacks with Yemen.

The embassies were closed to protect the staff. Damn I sure hate it when people don’t read news papers or watch TV news.

  9. Fox News Watcher to the end says:

fear and panic is what the terrorist want…..closing the embassy in yemen was a bad idea,,it now means only military force will ever take it back and it means yemen has fallen to the terrorist.

Should we have knowingly left our emissaries of peace in the line of fire? Probably beck hasn’t told you yet but we have given financial and logistic support to the Yemen government to fight the Al Qaeda presence. Although he’ll probably tell you that Obama gave guns and money to the people who hate us.
