Are we more or less safe because of this?
Have the terrorists started to lay down their guns now that Obama has promised to close down Gitmo?
Closing Gitmo and moving the prisoners is not the same as setting them all free.
Good for them. Now if we catch them doing something they can be killed. Yes it does make us safer.
This guy was released under BUSH and died under Obama…
“….Hani Abdo Shaalan, who was released from Guantánamo in 2007, was killed in an airstrike on December 17….”
Closing Gitmo takes away the recruiting propaganda that we run lawless torture camps in violation of international law.
Yes they are laying down their guns. It’s hard to safely hold a gun, while laughing at your enemy.
They see weakness and immaturity in Obama. This is hardly a recipe for peace.
Those who seek peace should prepare for war. – ‘Qui vis pacem para bellum’
There are evil, racist, genocidal, hate filled, blood thirsty, sub-human, fundamentalist Muslim terrorists who are at war with the United States. They have been at war with the US since long before 9/11. America could no longer deny the fact after that cowardly evil attack. These savages will still be at war with the US even if Obama decides to lose the wars in those countries. Bush never lied about the situation in the Middle East. Not once.
Hussein had WMD’s and he used them in an attempt at genocide against the Kurds in his own country. Democrats urged the war and voted for it in congress. Then the snakes turned around, bit him, and called him a war-monger and liar.
