nadya is also used in eastern europe, and Suleiman is also Jewish, but the combination of the two names and her look suggest that she’s an arab.

were you ever so angry for paying taxes to the military that kill children in other countries?
Naw, could care less about her ethnicity. I’m more angry about the fact that I’m going to be paying for these 14 children…
OF COURSE NOT! She had eight babies on top of the 6 she already had. I don’t care if she’s green and from Mars, she is a selfish, self-absorbed fame seeker. Those poor children, they have no chance of a normal life.
Too many Americans need others to put down to feel better about themselves. I think it’s more a case of that than anything to do with her ethnicity, although for some people, it’s quite probably that as well.
No. People are angry because she has 14 children who she can’t
take care of and is expecting taxpayers to do it for her. Although the
last I heard she did say she’s going back to school and will use a student loan to pay the bills. Fact is,she’s counting on her parents, who are no longer young,to help with this. She is irresponsible.
I don’t think she’s Arabian. I’m not sure. But look:

Follow both of those links. There should be a pic on one or both of her from 2006. She’s white and looks American. Don’t let names give you away.
No, it’s because she chose to have 14 babies, but then chose to shift the burden of parenthood and responsibility onto others.
If she was an Arab, I think her culture would prevent her having 14 children with no husband. All these children with no father and three with disabilities. I’m a little concerned about the future health problems of the eight. Did they receive adequate nutrition in the developmental phase? Will they ever get the chance to go to college? Their mother is really milking the system, and I think there may have been a breach of the law in allowing a single unemployed woman to have in vitro babies. It’s a moral dilemma, certainly.
No, I don’t think her ethnicity has anything to do with how the majority of people feel about her.
I think people are angry because Ms. Suleman willingly put herself and her children into a situation where the general public would have to financially raise them. Ms. Suleman is taking food out of the mouths of children and parents who find themselves in a financial crisis by no fault of their own.
Personally, I am not even that worried about the money situation. We throw money down the drain every day on more useless things than selfishly conceived octuplets.
What I am worried about are those 14 children. They have no active father in their lives and a mother who does nothing except give birth to more babies. They don’t have a role model.
Also how could Ms. Suleman love her babies if she willingly decided to have ALL 8 of them implanted in her womb? Now I am not a doctor, but I do have common sense.
Women are NOT meant to have 8 babies, let us leave that to the cats and dogs of this world. The Suleman babies are small, frail, and sickly because they have to fight for life amongst their siblings. Chances are that even if they all do survive, they will have health problems.
Why would someone willingly put that burden on their children’s shoulders for the rest of their lives? A normal parent paces the floor all night when their child comes down with a fever. They don’t set their children up for a life of hell in a handbasket.
Why did she opt to have 8 children at once? That makes me sick and also makes me question if she has any love at all in her heart for her children.
I’m Arab and I’m not “angry” because of who she is, but the irresponsible manner in which she lives her life. We are celebrity obsessed and this is the painful result of that obsession. And now 14 new people will suffer.
That is why I am “angry.”
what are you talking about, Suleman is an arabic name. that was my moms last name. its not jewish!!
“what are you talking about, Suleman is an arabic name. that was my moms last name. its not jewish!!”
agreed with what everyone else says and wanted to point out to Nora that Suleman could indeed be a Jewish name because it is Biblical coming from Solomon. I am Persian (not Jewish) but recall some Persian Jewish families having this surname as well, as I would assume it occurs within other Middle Eastern Jews.
Anyway, I also feel sorry for the extended family. From wikipedia I quote: “The octuplets’ maternal grandfather, 67-year-old Edward Doud Suleman, and identifying himself as a former Iraqi military man, says he is returning to his native Iraq as a translator and driver in order to financially support his daughter and her children. The grandmother, 69-year-old Angela Victoria Suleman, a retired teacher, has helped to look after the first six children. She has indicated that she is overwhelmed looking after them and has been critical of her daughter in her recent public statements, for example stating that her daughter has not contributed toward housing or food costs.” If anything, it reflects on the mental state of an individual, not her family, and certainly not her culture.
